Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using theviolenceproject.org website operated by The Violence Prevention Project. Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms.

1. Terms

By accessing this website, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms of Service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws.

If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

2. Account Terms

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under the account and any other actions taken in connection with it.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate and complete account information
  • Keeping your password secure and confidential
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Ensuring all activities under your account comply with these terms

3. Content

If you post material to the website, post links on the website, or otherwise make material available by means of the website, you are entirely responsible for the content of, and any harm resulting from, that content.

4. Payment and Renewal

By selecting a paid subscription, you agree to pay The Violence Prevention Project the applicable fees. Subscription payments will be charged on a pre-pay basis on the day you sign up and will cover the use of that service for the subscription period as indicated.

Important:

Subscription fees are not refundable. Unless you notify The Violence Prevention Project before the end of the applicable subscription period that you want to cancel, your subscription will automatically renew.

The Violence Prevention Project reserves the right to change the fees upon 30 days' notice.

5. Services

Priority email support is provided with a target response time of five business days.

The Violence Prevention Project reserves the right to temporarily disable your account if your usage significantly exceeds the average usage of other users.

Thirty days' written notice is required for cancellation of services.

6. Responsibility of Website Visitors

The Violence Prevention Project has not reviewed, and cannot review, all of the material posted to the website, and cannot therefore be responsible for that material's content, use or effects.

By operating the website, The Violence Prevention Project does not represent or imply that it endorses the material posted, or that it believes such material to be accurate, useful, or non-harmful.

You are responsible for taking precautions as necessary to protect yourself and your computer systems from viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and other harmful or destructive content.

9. Intellectual Property

This Agreement does not transfer from The Violence Prevention Project to you any intellectual property, and all right, title, and interest in and to such property will remain solely with The Violence Prevention Project.

All trademarks, service marks, graphics, and logos used in connection with the website are trademarks or registered trademarks of The Violence Prevention Project or its licensors.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The website is provided "as is". The Violence Prevention Project and its suppliers and licensors hereby disclaim all warranties of any kind, express or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Neither The Violence Prevention Project nor its suppliers and licensors makes any warranty that the website will be error-free or that access thereto will be continuous or uninterrupted.

11. Limitation of Liability

In no event will The Violence Prevention Project, or its suppliers or licensors, be liable with respect to any subject matter of this agreement under any contract, negligence, strict liability or other legal or equitable theory for:

  • Any special, incidental, or consequential damages
  • The cost of procurement for substitute products or services
  • Interruption of use or loss or corruption of data

12. Termination

The Violence Prevention Project may terminate your access to all or any part of the website at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately.

If you wish to terminate this Agreement or your account, you may simply discontinue using the website.

All provisions of this Agreement which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

13. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

14. Changes to Terms

The Violence Prevention Project reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace any part of this Agreement. It is your responsibility to check this Agreement periodically for changes.

Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes to this Agreement constitutes acceptance of those changes.
